The Big Apple
It was my first time traveling to the United States and my first stop was New York. I was lucky enough to be staying with a friend in the East Village which is a great area for foodies like me. I was alone most of the time exploring the city during the day and I completely fell in love with it. New York city has so much to offer, arts, food, and diversity.
Egg Shop is a must go. I got their Everything To Me which is smoked salmon scrambled eggs with everything biscuit (which is to die for). I went pretty early in the morning myself and the restaurant was already packed. There was a line in front of me but because I'm a table for one, I only had to wait for 2 minutes. One of the customer wanted to leave because of the wait and asked the waitress if there are any nearby brunch places and the waitress pointed out that "The Butcher's daughter, but people only go there because there is a long line here".
Battery Park
Take the Staten Ferry for free to see the statue of liberty instead of taking the overpriced tour ferries.
Cafe Integral located round the corner of Egg Shop, where you can grab yourself a coffee whilst waiting for a table at Egg Shop.
Cafe Integral, croissant and a flat white
Bluestone Lane Collective Cafe I heard that this is the best joint in the city. This rainbow bowl was incredible, it was one of the best salad I have ever had.
Chelsea Market - Salmon Bagel from Davidovich Bakery
Nickel and Diner: I wouldn't say the food was outstanding but the whole atmosphere and the modern retro interior design makes up for it. It's definitely a very insta-worthy restaurant.
